Requested the balance report for a compressor rotor (see attached).  Trying to understand the OEM’s logic on the report. 

  1. OEM uses G 1.6 for low speed (ISO 1940/1).  My cal is G 1.9
  2. OEM uses E 1.25 µm.  My cal is 1.23 µm

I do appreciate this is ‘splitting hairs’; however, would like to know how the OEM achieves these values.  Are the OEM figures set values established ‘in-house’ of this rotor and others of similar construction or are my cals incorrect?

They likely just enter the numbers in the balancing machine software and trust it to make a good calc. it may differ in the evaluation of the diagram in the 1940-1
