I think the firmware loader is not locked by the dongle, just the MT package is locked. It also before that had a magic secret floppy system also on the larger floppys....

Hi Oli,

I remember the 5 1/4" floppys well.  They weren't fool proof though. I can't remember exactly but if you armed, then disarmed twice you could actually end up being able to install on 2 or more computers.  Found out by chance only but very handy.  The disk had a hole in it somewhere. I have no idea how that worked. rgds

Sorry for the late reply but I just got home yesterday from an extended vacation. I have a 3.5 in. floppy disc downloadable firmware for a 2110. It is numbered 1 of 1 version 5.7 and does not have a serial number and if I remember as others have stated none was needed. If you still have a need let me know.

On the floppy first the name of the software guy was written several times in a or rather at 2 spots and then the magnetic surface was burned (by laser?) to destroy part of the guys name...... Software then read the part names remaining from the bad sector that was "not possible to read" and verified it to be a true lock disc...... Yes the ability to enable a couple of pc's was very [smile]convenient. Those were the days. You know I always need to take things apart.
