Anyone ever run this combination?  Received the VBX on friday, did not have any luck getting it to work.
Any help would  be appreciated.

Thanx,

Evan

It will not, it trigger on the highest so it may be 2x or anything else but it may be that 1x often is the top one. Olov

Strobe manual says freeze rotating component manually, then select lock and the ??? should lock onto that signal at that freq. Pos or neg rise.

"Strobe manual says freeze rotating component manually, then select lock and the ??? should lock onto that signal"

The PBX strobe has a tunable band-pass filter with choice of narrow or wide band. When the strobe is correctly tuned to the machine speed and the image is frozen, then pressing the Lock key will cause the flash rate to be locked (phase locked loop or PLL) in phase with the filtered vibration from the accelerometer. The phase can be manually adjusted with the strobe so that the frozen image has a marker (such as a shaft key or keyway) in a convenient location (such as vertical). Pressing the trigger on the strobe is supposed to capture the data on the analyzer.

I apologize for some of my previous statements that were inaccurate. I was curious how this PBX strobe worked, and I found it is quite a bit different than the old CSI 444 strobe light. It is possible that you do not have the correct cable, as I see you spent time trying to figure out the pin connections. CSI lists two different cables for their 555 strobe light (similar to the Monarch PBX?); D25535 that is for the model 2140 analyzer and the D25199 that is for the 2130 analyzer. There are a lot of simple things that may not have been done that are causing the system to not work. I could list these simple things, if you're still having difficulty. Unfortunately there are two or possibly three manufacturers involved with the products you're trying to use together; analyzer, strobe light, and cable. If the CSI 555 strobe is functionally identical to the Monarch PBX strobe, then the cable and instructions should match as well.

Contacted CTC today. They are looking into it.

Saga continues........hit CTC up again today, they said that I should call Monarch and they could help me out. This after Monarch told me they knew nothing about it.  Might have to go rogue on this one and make my own solution.

Finally got the accelerometer signal to the 2130 analyzer. Had to use two jumpers to make the wiring like the original CSI cable where it plugs into the unit. I also got the Monarch VBX to work, kind of. It would lock on to the signal, but was off by about 100 RPM. More research needed on that.
