Morning all
am I missing a tick box somewhere?
If i create a user defined note it doesn't down load with the data transfer, but if I use a generic CSi created note it will download with the data transfer and give me the little notes icon at the top right of my screen on the machine i added the note to.
thanks in advance for any tips or comments
Edit:
I've been through the data transfer setup and there is no option for notes that i can see

I've been using Note Codes for 25 years and never had this problem.  I also couldn't find any mention of downloading - or not downloading - note codes.  I have always accessed notes through Plotdata and don't use the Vibration Analysis tab.  Below is a short video of how I do it.  Be aware there is a limit of 96 note codes per machine.  If you enter a 97th note, it will not be downloaded, but you will have no indication of this.  Note codes are the backbone of my reporting (I've just never needed "alarms"), and I ran into the 96 note limitation in an unfortunate incident a while back.  300 hp motor had obvious problems, so I took some "extra data" and entered a note to that effect.  When I get to the office, I print all the notes for the survey, and work from that preparing the report.  But the note code for this motor didn't print, and I didn't remember there was a problem, so it didn't get written up, and the motor bearing failed shortly after.  So, if you use note codes extensively, be aware of the limits.

Thanks Rusty
You nailed it, the particular point I added a note to has already got 96 notes. That total was reached in 2005!
Hopefully there is a way of bulk deleting the notes, its a pesky "bad reading detected" that has taken up the total of 96. I have changed the lower limit a couple of years ago when i inherited the database, but never cleared the notes.

For anyone who has the same problem, I found the closest thing I could to a bulk deletion of notes
1st in exception analasys/data summaries tab/notepad observation summary/select an equipment set of interest (I just did specific route) and from the Notepad observations of interest select "history of observations" and set a date back as far as you like.

This will show you your "full notepads"

Go to the routes/machines of interest.
Click the notes icon at right of screen
expand the "Equipment notes window" to see the maximum number of notes
Click on the top left cell hold and drag to the bottom of list and hit delete on your keyboard
Repeat till they are all gone

If you already knew this you probably didnt read this far :-)
If you didnt know, now you do
Hope this helps

ctrl+click to select/deselect some
shift+click to select a series
ctrl+a (simultaneus) to select all notes

Nok,

For a user created note you must "add to point" then press enter.  Should be ok then.  It is for me.

Annoying thing for me is that the standard notes almost always don't suit so I waste time scrolling through the lists I use "boilogical infestation" for something covered in pulp.

So I go for user created notes almost always. But unfortunately there is a limit to the number of notes. So then you have to delete a note to make room.  This was so much easier even in 2120 if I remember correctly. rgds

Vibe, I am using version 5.61, and unless you have a "new and improved" version, you can change the 'pre-defined' notes to anything you want. The Generic group can have up to 15 notes, and then up to 10 Groups can have a total of 81, so 96 total (there must be something special about 96).  The 2140 can display 9 notes without scrolling, so I limit each of my Groups to 9 notes, except the Generic group has 15 (to maximize the total number of notes).  You can also have 25 User Notes on the 2140, so 121 total notes.  The "pre-defined" notes are attached to the database - I have not found a way to easily "standardize" the notes across all databases.  The User Notes 'live' on the meter and can be deleted, but not edited. Back in the day you could have approx 250 pre-defined notes, and I used to use every one of them.

Hey mate, why don't you change the lower signal level on your point set up so you don't get the bad reading note? I take it that it's not a bad reading and it's just so low as it's a conveyor. James.
