I have a fairly large PdM customer, and my monthly reports consist of a one-page writeup of each exception, with data, and then also a (usually) one-page summary of those exceptions. They’ve always done a poor job of managing actions on those exceptions, usually leaving it up to the area maintenance supervisors to task their people with the required corrections. And they have discretion on the timing of that work. I make “recommendations” but I’ve never considered it my job to get the work done - I have no desire to be “the hammer.”

Have a new maintenance manager that wants a better system, but they don’t really have planners and schedulers, as we are used to seeing them.

Is there something cloud-based, accessible via desktop or a mobile app that I could use to populate a database or “table” with a summary of my reports, that we could all access and update with info (bearing numbers, etc) and notations on the work that’s been done?

Looking for a simple, working system.

Rusty,

Here is software worth considering:
http://www.tf7.com/TF7PublicWebSite/TF7/TF7Start.aspx

The president is Forrest Pardue formerly with CSI in the old days, and he started Maars instruments

This is a program with a distinctive difference from CMMS Work Order oriented programs. I have seen one or two other programs advertised over the years.

Here is another: http://www.desmaint.com/maintelligence/
If you had a lot of time and patience, then you could set up a system in a database program like MS Access. I tried this a long time ago without success!

Rusty,

Were these programs of interest, or do you have some other specific needs?

Rusty my experience with Walt’s reference would lead me in a different direction and also remember Buddy’s name associated with Maars.
