Mark,

Yes, it is simultaneous with the CSI 2130

The SKF approach of doing multiple readings sequentially saves whatever built-in settling time you have designated and maybe a few more seconds autoranging, I think. But if it cuts just 5 seconds off of a reading it adds up when you are running a big route.

The problem I have with either way is that it's easy to lose the habit of looking at each reading as it is collected.

HI Danny,
are you on a CMXA 70(yellow fire buttons)

or a CMXA75?(blue fire buttons slightly larger screen)
[SKF_CMXA_75]
The newer 75 has firmware 4.05 and that allows you to view the spectrum and TWF briefly before each capture even with auto advance on, you can set the time to view the spectrum in config look for 'Dither time' I have mine set to is 0.25 seconds, this is enough time to see you have a good reading and make good headway at the same time.

The oldCMXA 70 was either auto advance and only seeing the overall numerical values or no auto advance, allowing you to view the spectrum/TWF but having to hit fire for each reading.

An update:

This does work but using the direct method that Planet I suggested requires stopping to change the ICP settings because you can only change both channels, not just one.

So instead, we have made a cable that uses the power supply from our Monarch laser tach to power the SpeedVue.

We haven't field-tested it yet but it works in the shop.
