Plotdata is just more straightforward to me.  Simple is better (usually). Once you get used to it, you can fly through the analysis.  Putting a waveform/spectrum on the same screen and just clicking the "next point" icon in the bottom row is really fast.  I can't imagine what you can't do with it.  But then, after using it for 29 years, I guess I'm biased.

Your words, "once you get used to it" is the key thing
I used to be able to fly through analysis with plot data but now I'm probably faster with VA tab
I have my single screen setup like pd with o/all trend, spectrum & w/form and click through each point too

It's alright Nok, Beks and a bit of a lie down... LOL.  PD rules haha.  Until it gets removed anyway..... cheers. It'd be nice to see a few more vote in the poll.

I have been using VA since I  got into CSI 8 years ago. I have poked around in Plot Data a little but I started in VA and it just seems natural now. I can see some functions in PD that would be nice to use.

Early on, I tried VA and the graphs were hideous.  If you wanted to show a set of harmonic cursors over a bunch of spectra it would insert big grey walls that would block out the whole thing.  Trying to show multiple date spectra over several points was impossible as I recall as was multiple date twf's.

Trying to conform our reports to the new graphs was just more than it was worth to us and we were successful in waiting it out. Thanks to CSI for leaving it in there long enough. I'm sure they have vastly improved the VA module based on feedback provided in these forums.  I'm not sure if they follow things here but they did in our old surroundings.  They provided helpful answers to questions about their product and conducted themselves appropriately but they definitely kept an eye on what we said.

They are certainly welcome here as far as I'm concerned. The feedback we can provide is priceless to the software providers if they listen.

In regard to the gray wall, you mean like this?

That's what they call a "plane cursor". You can turn it off by going into Setup Options (right click on plot, bottom selection). Click on "Multiple Spectrum Options".

Then uncheck the Plane Cursor option. Here you can also turn the floor cursor (line across spectra) on or off, set it to highlight the spectrum you're on.  Z-Axis angle can be set here (or adjusted using the compass looking thing at the top right of the plot). Overlap controls how much of the spectrums overlap each other.

Now here it is without the walls:

You are a legend ssimon1,

And yes I am a plotdata fan. I have dabbled in "diagnostic plotting" tab but to get through lots of survey data plotdata is still unbeatable.

There are still some things that the vibration analysis tab won't do.
Fault frequencies values only.
F11 search for point id.

I try real hard to transition I try... I know I have to move on but plot data still allows me to churn through data at momentous speed. Which i still can't do in the va tab. rgds
