I don’t know this type of post comes here, as the title says my company is trying to troubleshoot some problem on a turbo generator, looking for a technical advisor, a company to perform some testing, if anyone is interested of know or someone, I will appreciate any advice or hint is welcome.

One of our turbo generator the managers suspect the foundation is “sinking”, the possible investigation steps for this phenome are:

1) Geometrical measurements on the structure, I think this need “trending” for the diagnosis, structural deformation over time.

2) Modal analysis, this is recommended by the “vibration consultant” they hire for the turbogeneratos, don’t know much of this but possible detection of cracks 180 degrees out of phase movement?

3) Ultrasonic testing on the concrete, detecting cracks.

Quick search of the web, if you have not found a company yet...

If I understand your problem well, I think you'd have more luck with civil engineering companies than with vibration contractors.

I know that EMHA is strong at those things. They help us out a lot with machine foundations. But it is a long way from home for them to get to you I think.
You might write them an email and find out what they can do for you.
