A customer is using SKF software, and has been for about three years now with no upgrades. Salesman stopped by last month and told them they needed to update, and it would only cost $X.xx. Does anyone know how the latest version (whatever it is) compares to the previous versions?
I'm realizing now I don't even know what version we're running, so I'll have to get that info.
Any general comments until I do get the info will be appreciated.

Edit: I just read the thread of MarkL requesting the overlay. Sounds like there are some changes. We certainly don't have anything to filter with (what a nightmare).

I don't know. But the slaes approach from the SKF seems to be the same everywhere. Sell sell sell. Bet the sales person didn't even know the difference between your version and latest. rgds

 Dave,
I haven't access to mine tonight as I am on my own laptop not work one.
Latest firmware on microlog is version  4.05.

@ptitude analyst is 9.0.2( I think) I work on the cloud version the last 8 months and no more firmware updates, as we pay an annual subscription to SKF and always have the latest build.
The New enlight software is due to kick in later this summer and  will be same background program with a different front end and designed as a web portal only, no more installed versions( so I am told)

I will post the latest release notes when I can get my hand's on it

Yea, that makes sense now. The salesperson was trying to get them to go online for it, and when they explained it was on a stand alone computer salesman was flummoxed, didn’t want to talk about updating but wanted them to upgrade. This customer has absolutely terrible IT dept. and support. They want nothing to do with anything online or on their network again. It could be down for days, with no one having any idea how to get it going again. So we’re going to get upgrade.
Thanks for the response, that explained what they were trying to tell me.

Dave if the IT is that bad I'd recommend the online subscription moðle as they won't rely on the IT depart, net for it. All they need to have is a computer on site or a laptop with a thin client that connects from Microlog to the cloud.
They might need a stand alone data connection if they have draconian firewall set up but once they are installed they can log in to analyse from pretty much any computer in the world with a net connection, hell they can even do it from home, say if a technician collected data and loaded it to cloud through thin client at the plant, and the analyst can be pretty much anywhere he has a net connection to analyse and report on the data.

Attached are release notes for most recent version.

Mark,

We got our latest version (9.0.2 I believe it is). I am trying to set speed (multiple), and the new speed doesn't change after going through the process. Did they change something about that process that is not intuitive? Have never had any trouble before.
Is there a maintenance release for this version available?

Hi Dave, Latest versions are all on the cloud now, they haven't updated the locally installed version in almost 14 months I think.

I have been using cloud connect exclusively last 18 months or so.

I am not aware of any speed tagging changes, you can still do it by selecting the highest speed and right-clicking the mouse, would give the option of selecting 1x of the peak or 1x and multiples.
Dave I was on training only today  with one of the Aptitude guys, I will email him and see can he shine any light
